WOW… I was so surprised to have found out I had received the Rockin’ Girl Blogger award so you can only guess how surprised I was when I found out I had received it again!
Yep… that’s right… I was awarded it twice.
Earlier in the week Ann from The Tall Poppy awarded me this pink, funky award and then later in the week, Simone from Simone’s Butterfly awarded me it too.
I’m very touched and speechless as it came from out of the blue. Thank You Ann and Simone.
I believe the tradition is to continue it on and award it to who I feel are Rockin’ Girl Bloggers. It’s a hard decision as there are so many blogs out there so I’m going to sleep on it. Stay Tuned!

Have you heard of Mind Movies?
No… well a mind movie is a visualisation of your goals but as if you have already achieved them. The concept is based on the principles of the Law of Attraction and using affirmations and images.
After working on my mind movie over the past week, I’m happy to show it off. Enjoy!

I’m not far off launching The Modern Goddess Pampering range. The range includes a gorgeous hand-made, all natural soap with rose petals for a gentle exfoliation as well as a delicious body scrub, foot scrub and face mask. The range smells divine!
The range has a distinct scent… a scent especially blended for a Modern Goddess. The scent is feminine, yet empowering and powerful.
The scent was important to me so my aromatherapist and I threw around a range of ideas and we’re both extremely happy with what we came up with. The four blends are Rose Geranium, Lavender, Patchouli and Ylang-Ylandg III. The Modern Goddess scent has a woody undertone with a light floral scent.
I’m glad we spent a bit of time working out the best scent that represents femininity, empowerment and power because while reading Michelle at Tonic Gifts’ article about Making Sense of Scent, the scent of perfume is important to many others.
Michelle offers some suggestions on how to select the right perfume scent for a gift. In addition her suggestions, my suggestions are to find out what the meaning is behind a scent, such as my Modern Goddess scent. Or choose a name based on the meaning it has to you. The first bottle of perfume my husband bought for me was Joy. He wrote on the card “because you bring joy to my life”.
Even though I’m not offering a perfume, I do offer other ways of bring a divine smelling scent into your life.
What is your favourite scent?

Welcome to Issue 3 of Empowering Women. This issue I’ve decided to focus on articles that look at things from a different perspective.
I thought I would start with a short article, What is a Women? over at Joy Soriano. Joy reminds us just how special we are.
Following on is a gentle yet powerful reminder that we complete ourselves. Edith over at Edith Yeung: Dream. Think. Act writes You Don’t Complete Me a response to the famous quote from the movie Jerry McGuire of “You Complete Me”.
Then Laura Young over at Dragon Slyer’s Guide to Life talks about the Mid-Life Crisis and how it’s not just for men any more… women are having them to. She explains that the key is to recognise burn out and desperation before it becomes intolerable.
To help with burn out, you may want to review the points that Ananga Silvyer discusses in her article about what chronic illness taught her about productivity. They are great points for everyone, not just for those close to burn out or are dealing with chronic illness.
And to end this issue of Empowering Women, Chris over at The Philosophy of Change explains that being happy all the time is like having strawberry icecream every day, at some stage it gets boring and monotoneous. We need some chocolate, pistachio or vanilla to mix it up a little and make our favorite (strawberry) something that we can come back to from other things.
I agree with Chris, it is difficult to be happy all the time however I feel that if you understand how you are feeling at different times, you can begin to heal, better deal with those feelings so that you can be happy. It is ok to feel other things other than happy because life is not perfect and we are not perfect.
Have a great week!
Thank you to everyone that submitted articles. I would appreciate author’s linking back to this carnival.
You are invited to submit your blog article to the next edition using our carnival form.

Part of being a Modern Goddess is about living life to the fullest. This means being active in how you live your life and not being on automatic pilot. When you are on automatic pilot you are not making conscious decisions and you generally are not being intentional with your action.
Being a Modern Goddess and living your life to the fullest means that you are making informed, conscious decisions, you are choosing the way you live and being intentional in your actions. You are taking opportunities when they are presented to you and seeing the possibilities around you.
When you are living your life to the fullest you are not only happy, but you are also being a role model for the children and people around you. You may not know it but there will be people around you that are inspired by what you do and how you live your life.
Someone who is a great role model in cyberspace is Anne at The Tall Poppy. Not only is she providing guidance in how to improve your life but she is also holding Blog Carnivals about personal growth, stretching out of your comfort zone and really participating in life.
Her blog carnival called Living a Real Life has great articles published under the categories of ‘Taking a Risk’, “Personal Growth’, ‘Spiritual Growth’ and ‘Falling Over’.
The various articles are great resources. Not all will be applicable to your life at this moment but I’m sure you’ll find something that will help you move through whatever phase you are going through at this time in your life.
Remember…
“Your living is determined not so much by what life brings to you as by the attitude you bring to life; not so much by what happens to you as by the way your mind looks at what happens” Kahlil Gibran

The blogosphere is huge and getting your name out there can be difficult particular when you’re a small fish in a big sea. But there are many innovative people coming up with new ways of increasing your page ranking. While reading The Tall Poppy I came across a post about Viralink. Andy-Coats the innovator of Viralink says it will help build links which increases your page ranking, therefore we are getting our name out there. Here’s how it works…
<< Instructions >>
Below is a matrix of 100 stars and one of the stars has a link to my blog. All you need to do is copy and paste the grid into your blog and add your own link to one of the spare stars.

I recently interviewed Anita Ryan-Revel of
Goddess.com.au and ChakraGoddess.com
Author of Selena’s Crystal Balls, A Magical Journey Through the Chakras.
NG :: Anita, welcome to A Goddess in Hong Kong blog and thanks for stopping by on your Virtual Book Tour. I am profiling you as our ‘Inspiring Woman’ in the next issue of The Modern Goddess emagazine but for those that do not subscribe, can you tell us why you started Goddess.com.au and ChakraGoddess.com?
AR :: That’s a little like asking, “why do we breathe?” When you receive your “calling” there is little you can do but honour it.
My journey started in 1999 when I bought the domain Goddess.com.au after some pretty powerful (and empowering) chakra/goddess workshops. I had no idea what I wanted to do with the site though, so at first it was like my “blog” and a repository for my research. By 2005 the Goddess-ence 100% pure essential oil blends came into my life, and after working with them I had the “a-ha!” insight as to how to make something of such valuable url-estate that would be for the greatest good of all.
The upshot is what you can see today online — a free resource for world wild women that helps each woman connect with her beautiful, sassy, intuitive, lovable, sacred and authentic self — her “inner goddess”.
NG :: I know you’ve recently come back from a tour around the USA where you conducted a number of Chakra Goddess workshops. How did the tour go?
AR :: My first stop was New Orleans and that was a head-spin. I couldn’t believe that 18 months after Hurricane Katrina the levy-side suburbs are still in ruin. But (as is my nature), I looked for the silver lining and was incredibly impressed with the “can do” attitude of the Nola-ians. They are the epitome of “positive” — even though the tragedy had ravaged their beautiful city, they picked themselves up and are getting it back on track.
After my New Orleans experience, my eyes were open even further to all the healing that is needed in America. I felt that while my Chakra Goddess workshops and seminars were instrumental in changing a couple of hundred lives for the better (thanks to the participants willing it to be so and thereby co-creating the change), there is still room for much more healing and reclamation of empowerment.
You’re currently on a Virtual Book Tour so I would like to talk a little more about your children’s book, Selena’s Crystal Balls.
NG :: Your first two books, The Goddess Guide to Chakra Vitality and Moon Goddess: Manifest your Dreams caters to women, not children. What inspired you to write a children’s book?
AR :: Mothers, aunties, grandmas, teachers and caregivers who have reclaimed and reconnected with their inner goddess (and the awesome life that comes with it) were asking me for a kids’ version of the chakra information and activities that they could share with their children.
After months of gestation, the story of Selena’s Crystal Balls, A Magical Journey Through the Chakras was “birthed” one afternoon in a cafe in Ballarat. It was magic — I was in the right space to tap into Spirit and wooshka, the words just flowed.
NG :: Did you have clear visions of the images you wanted in the book?
AR :: The words paint a glorious picture on their own, so it was easy to hand them over to Thea (the illustrator) and let her fly with her interpretation of the story. She was very quick to be inspired by the words and come back to me with the stunning illustrations that are in the book today. Very few changes were needed as she “nailed” the essence of each chakra simply by reading the words on each page.
I particularly love that each child finds something different in each crystal ball — boisterous boys might be attracted to the lion in the yellow crystal ball, for example, while angelic little girls are attracted to flying through the clouds in the purple crystal ball.
NG :: What is your favourite part of the book?
AR :: As with all things “chakra” it changes! Depending on what’s happening around me, I might be more attracted to one image than another, yet as each situation resolves then I become more attracted to another image. It’s bizarre how chakra energy manifests as attraction to colours and images, but I like it!
NG :: What suggestions would you give mums and dads who want to read the book to their children?
AR :: By encouraging children to visualise aspects of their life relating to each chakra, parents are helping them achieve physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual balance in their lives. I suggest therefore, that parents be aware of this before they start reading the story to their children, and be prepared for the insightful discussions that inevitably arise after each of Selena’s “trigger” questions.
Parents may choose to read it aloud, illustrate their experiences in a journal, or use it as a bedtime meditation to send children off to a carefree sleep.
NG :: Are you planning on writing more children’s books? If so, are they along the same lines of gentle guidance on the quest for spiritual well-being?
AR :: Who’s to say what Spirit has in store for me? I’m just thrilled that I am open to every word or concept that flows through me, and am incredibly grateful to see these words in print and in the hands of readers.
Currently I have three more manuscripts on the go, (yes, at once!), but knowing me, no doubt a “Selena sequel” will materialise before too long
I am encouraged by the reception it has received so far, so this is always a good foundation to build on.
NG :: So what are you planning next? A tour, more writing or something else just as inspirational?
AR :: I’m heading back to the USA for some workshops in January 2008 and to launch my next book, “The 7-Day Chakra Workout”. Unlike Selena’s Crystal Balls, this book has taken many many many MANY months to write, and even now at proof stage, is still evolving into a very powerful and energetic piece of work. I’ve also got a CD in the works that will complement the whole shebang, so life is busy (and wonderful!).
NG :: Anita, thanks for stopping by A Modern Goddess in Hong Kong blog. I look forward to hearing all about the inspirational things that your are working towards. The future is definitely exciting.
For my readers, if you leave a comment to this post (don’t forget to leave your email address) before the end of June 2007, you will receive a 10% discount voucher to be used at my Goddess Store within 12 months.
Selena’s Crystal Balls, A Magical Journey Through the Chakras is available to buy at my Goddess Store.

A little while back I became a member of TUT (Totally Unique Thoughts) - it’s a free website philosophical club for the adventure of life, with over 130,000 members from around the world who believe that living in the jungles of time and space, as a creation amongst our creations, is the ultimate Adventure because “thoughts become things,” dreams do come true, and all things remain forever possible!
Each Monday, Wednesday and Friday I receive a note from the Universe. Sometimes these notes are funny and other times they are cute but they always have me think more about what the note says.
I thought I would share today’s note with you.
Did you know, Nicole, that your primitive little computer already has about 672 powerful options, shortcuts, and functions you don’t even know about that could make your life simpler, happier and zippier with just a few clicks?
Cool.
And did you know that the Universe has about 672 giga-trillion powerful options, shortcuts, and functions; friends, allies, and confidants; secrets, solutions, and answers; ideas, inventions, and dimensions; angels, wizards, and fairies; engineers, strategists, and specialists; plotters, planners, and diagrammers; nooks, crannies, and hideouts; games, adventures, and thrills; stories, legends, and fables; flavors, scents, and melodies; pleasures, pleasantries, and passions; eurekas, cowabungas, and yeehaas you don’t even know about that could make your life simpler, happier, and zippier with just a little visualizing?
Yeah, cooler.
You can start now.
The Universe
Today’s note reminded me that there is so much possibility out there in this big old world of ours that anything is possible. All we need to do is really want it deep down inside, start visualising we have it and the Universe will conspire to help us achieve it.
Have a great day!
