Welcome to Issue 11 of Empowering Women and this issue we’ve got articles that we don’t discuss alot but are important to be aware of.
1. Kate over at Baby Lune opened up to her readers to discuss how she found a beloved item 18 months after her second child. This is a great read for mums, mums-to-be or wannabe mums.
2. Tracee over at So Sioux Me discusses the topic of So Totally Ana, words often used in trashy hip-chick books and articles and now appearing on social networking sites. Ana is short for anorexia and is considered the best thing to be.
3. Holly over at Menstrual Poetry talks about how Planned Parenthood health clinics are seeing an uprising in picketers and people who are generally harassing their workers and patients. She also tells us about a blog, I Am Emily X dedicated to helping people receive the health care they deserve.
4. Wenchpoo over at Wisdom from Wenchypoo’s Mental Wastebasket suggests that everyone create a health problem retirement plan, an easy 6 step plan. She calls this an Investment in Life.
5. Daylle Deanna over at Lessons from a Recovering Doormat has a great article on how making mistakes in our lives is not all that bad and she outlines how to make your mistakes count. They can actually make you stronger.
Tell others about this Empowering Women Carnival… pass on the love, the knowledge and the wisdom and help anothers become empowered. Have a great week!
Thank you to everyone that submitted articles. I would appreciate author’s linking back to this carnival.
You are invited to submit your blog article to the next edition using our carnival form.

I’m going to continue on with my theme of giving back, especially since we are moving into the festive season of gift giving.
There are many children who will go without this Christmas and there are many charities looking for support. You can help to make a little boy or girl’s Christmas, or even a mum or a dad’s Christmas.
Here are some suggestions:-
Christmas Cards - buy them from a charity where the money goes back into the cause or buys gifts for the less fortunate.
Christmas Food - next time you are grocery shopping, buy and extra 2 or 3 items that you could put in a Christmas bin. Generally the Christmas bins are sorted and the food is divided up and given to families on Christmas day.
Toy Drives - find out if there are any Toy Drives in your area. This is where you donate a toy which will then be given to a charity who will pass it to a child.
Christmas Tree Wishes - K-Mart and similar department stores generally put a tree up at Christmas with gift tags hanging from it. You then go off and buy a gift relevant to the gift tag and place it under the tree. At Christmas, the type of person you bought for will be given the gift.
Extending it beyond your Neighbourhood - while reading My New Shiny Shoes for some gift ideas of my own, I came across a post Michelle wrote about The Giving Gift. She talks about buying a gift for someone who has everything, and in turn you are actually giving to someone who has very little. I like her suggestions of buying a pig or lamb for a family.
Be Festive - and organise a Santa Clause pub crawl. Coordinate with each pub that you visit, they will donate some of the earnings that night to a particular charity. Then tell all your friends that they have to dress up as Santa Clause, and go on a pub crawl. The more people drink, and it can be soft drink, the more will be donated to charity.
Can you think of anything else you can do to support the less fortunate this season?

Not everyone can donate a lot of money to worthy causes and not all worthy causes are able to get a great deal of publicity. Did you know it’s White Ribbon Day on the 25th November?
White Ribbon Day is an International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. One of their major strategies is to offer education and male leadership programs aimed at men and boys. The purpose is to eliminate violence against women.
My journal partner and I are supporting this cause by hosting a Goddess Gala in Coollum, Queensland, Australia. The Goddess Gala is about honouring yourself and the women in your life. You can read more about it at Journals for Empowerment.
We are asking that all participants donate a gold coin, which will be donated to the White Ribbon Foundation. We are also donating 10% of all product sales on the day.
Other worthy causes you can support for free are:
Free Rice is a site I found over at Postive Communication. All you have to do is play a educational game online and for every word definition you get correct, 10 grains of rice are donated.
Care2 Children is a site I was sent by a friend. All you need to do is visit the site, and click on the big blue ‘Free Click to Help’ button. Every click goes towards providing a child with food, medical attention and education for 30 days.
One Click at a Time is a site that allows you to generate revenue for the charity without spending your money. All funds are sponsor driven. The only cost to you is time. You can pick the charities as they have many options available.
I donated 50 grains of rice (the words are hard), donated to Ana and saved a Tiger. I won’t be able to tell you how much we raised for White Ribbon Day until Monday.
Who did you support today?

As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, I became a qualified Soul Coach recently. Soul Coaching can be conducted a couple of different ways but one of the more popular ways is through the 28-day program.
The 28-day program covers four elements - air, water, fire and earth and applies these elements into your everyday life through decluttering of your environment and your mind, looking at your emotions and patterns in life and refocusing on the positives in life, rather than the negatives.
The program has 3 levels - committed to change; going for it and playing full out. Each day you can choose the level that you will work at based on the time you have. It doesn’t really matter what level you do because once you commit to the program, you find that things start to shift within and around you.
It truly is an amazing program and I will be offering it online as well as face to face.
To get you thinking more about the positives, check out Jacqui’s post over at Rainbow Designs. Jacqui has listed 10 ways to create a positive day. Some of these principles are discussed in the 28-day program. We work with affirmations daily, we set intentions and you are encouraged to be kind to yourself.
If you would like to know more, please feel free to email me at nicole @ moderngoddessonline.com
Have a great day!

It is so easy for life to get busy especially when you’re trying to achieve alot in a short period of time. However coming home from my recent trip to the US, I have found I have a new inner calm that I’ve not had before.
I’m a calm person most of the time (on the outside) but generally my head is going a million miles per hour. Since being home, I’m finding that head chatter is not so busy even though there is lots to do.
I’m happy to say that I’m now a Certified Soul Coach and Past Life Coach. The accreditation program was fantastic and what a wonderful way to connect with other like-minded women.
The Soul Coaching accreditation program was facilitated by Denise Linn, a well known author and a presenter on Hay House radio. We were all blessed to have spent 9 days at her ranch in central California and what a beautiful part of the world.
I’ve got to dash to a client’s meeting but I’ll be back to tell you more about Soul Coaching.
Have a great day!

One of my new friends from my Soul Coaching accreditation program sent me this. I thought I would share it with you because it is important every now and then to be reminded to nice to yourself, to cherish yourself and to love yourself.
*****
Most people have a hard time delegating, or even wanting to delegate, because you have been justifying your existence through your hard work, and you equate success with struggle; you equate results with struggle.
And so, you sort of wear your struggle like a badge of honor. And all of that is opposite of allowing the Well-being. The only thing that ever matters in success or achievement is your achieving the things that you want to achieve. So if you are setting standards and you’re feeling uncomfortable about the standards that you’ve set, tweak the standards back a little bit. Ratchet it back a notch.
Give yourself a break. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt. Lighten up. Be easier. Go slower. Take it easy. Have more fun. Love yourself more. Laugh more. Appreciate more. All is well. You can’t get it wrong. You never get it done.
Excerpted from a workshop in San Antonio, TX on Saturday, April 20th, 2002. Abraham-Hicks
I’ve returned from the US and I allowed myself that break for me and just me. There I laughed, cried and became inspired. My mind is less cluttered with chatter and on Friday, I start my first painting lesson. Now that will be fun!
What are you doing to have more fun?

These past few months have been hectic with travelling, publishing a book and becoming a Certified Soul Coach and Certified Past Life Coach. It has been a little quiet around here because I’ve been away. Some posts I did plan and schedule prior to leaving and since getting home this week, I’ve been catching up.
Seeing my previous beauty tips post reminds me that I need to pull out my body moisturiser, soak myself in a few baths with epson or sea salts, and nurture my skin from head to toe. I find that flying and being in a different climate dries out my skin, and I don’t drink enough water.
Today I pulled out my BIG cup and filled it to the brim with water. When I pull that cup out it means I’m serious about getting my water intake up to a good level. Water not only stops me from drinking crap but it also helps hydrate my skin. My skin looks the best when I’ve been drinking water.
Next week is a busy week for me as I have a few client meetings, so looking my best is important. When I look my best I feel confident and sassy. Something else that makes me feel confident and sassy is wearing lipstick and mascara. It’s funny that a little bit of lippy does that for me.
Oh yeah… talking of lipstick, I reminded myself that I wanted to share a great article on the secrets of how to apply lipstick. Check it out over at My Day Off.
For the weekend, I’m going to take it easy but you’ll see me back in action next week. Enjoy your weekend!
