Today I spent some time reflecting on the amazing year I’ve had and started thinking about all the things I’ll be doing next year. Whilst reflecting I received a wonderful email from a Soul Sister (another Soul Coach).
Sophia of Soul Wings told us (the Soul Coaching group) about a practice she started doing many years ago… it is an activity where she writes down 100 wishes for the coming year. She does say that it must be completed by midnight on New Year’s Eve (if at all possible).
Here is what she suggests we do…
- In a notebook, write down all the numbers from 1 to 100 in a column on the left-hand margin.
- Start writing from 1, everything that you would like to manifest in your year ahead. Once you’ve run out of things to wish for, just for yourself, widen your circle to include prayers and wishes to your family, your community, your country, the environment, and eventually the entire planet.
Sophia explains that it’s truly an amazing activity in getting to know the REAL you – a compassionate, caring soul, who has so much to offer to the world! (What we wish for ourselves is what we wish for others, and what we wish for others is really what we wish for ourselves.)
Her advice is to get started as soon as possible. It usually takes me a couple of sessions over a day or two to finish the entire list.
It’s fun to find these lists at the end of each year and see how much you have manifested!
Thus it becomes a wonderful exercise in gratitude as well.
Happy Wishing!

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn’t already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder.
I turned round to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.
She said, “Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I’m eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?”
I laughed and enthusiastically responded, “Of course you may!” and she gave me a giant squeeze.
“Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?” I asked.
She jokingly replied, “I’m here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids…”
“No seriously,” I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.
“I always dreamed of having a college education and now I’m getting one!” she told me.
After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake.
We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop I was always mesmerized listening to this “time machine” as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.
Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went.
She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.
At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet.
I’ll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.
Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, “I’m sorry I’m so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I’ll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know.”
As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, “We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing.
There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You’ve got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.
We have so many people walking around who are dead and don’t even know it!
There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up.
If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don’t do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.
Anybody can grow older. That doesn’t take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets.
The elderly usually don’t have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets.”
She concluded her speech by courageously singing “The Rose.”
She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.
At the year’s end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.
One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.
Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it’s never too late to be all you can possibly be.
These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.
REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY. GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.
We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.

The moon has been so full and bright the past few nights that I felt is appropriate to tell you a little more about the gemstone, Moonstone.
The moonstone is a “stone of new beginnings” and is strongly connected to the moon and to the intuition. It is filled with receptive, passive, feminine energy and balaces male-female energies.
This lovely stone comes in white, cream, yellow, blue and green however most people would relate to its white milky colouring. It is found in India, Sri Lanka and Australia.
The moonstone has traditionally been used to enhance psychic abilities and to develop clairvoyance. It also soothes emotional instabilities and stress.
I have a lovely pendant and it is said that wearing a moonstone pendant will encourage acceptance of your psychic gifts. My pendant is a single drop however there are so many beautiful styles of pendants and while over at mydayoff.com.au I discovered this gorgeous rainbow moonstone necklace that Anne sells in her online store, beauty banquet.
The moonstone not only helps us emotionally… it also helps the digestive and repoductive systems, assimilates nutrients and eliminates toxins and fluid retention. It is excellent for PMS, contraception, pregnancy, childbirth and breast-feeding.
Whether you want help with something emotional or healing, this lovely gemstone is a must for your collection.

Time passes
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don’t do what they’re supposed to do .
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT………
Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A girl friend is never farther away than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life will be on the valley’s rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley’s end.
Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you…Or come in and carry you out.
Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters, daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers, Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended family, all bless our life!
The world wouldn’t be the same without women, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other.
Every day, we need each other still.

It is 4 days until Christmas and 11 days until we move into 2008. I’ve been getting myself organised - this means decluttering, scheduling and planning.
One of the biggest things for me is to confirm my schedule for next year… I have now published my face-to-face Soul Coaching schedule as well as my online Soul Coaching schedule. The reason for this being the biggest thing is because I’ve not committed to a year long program previously. Sure I commit to the YWCA training every quarter but this is now about my commitment to my business and promoting it.
Sometimes fear stops me in the tracks and I hear myself asking the questions “what if no one books into the program?”, “what if I’m not a success?”, “what if… what if and what if?” but I realised that I need to step past my fears and just jump in feet first. Setting my schedule, is the first step forward, marketing myself is the next step forward.
The third step forward is to declutter… and it’s more my office and paperwork than the rest of the home. I keep everything! I’ve got old Uni assignments, previous projects, all receipts dating back many years etc. and it’s “just in case I need them” but truthfully, I’ve probably not touched most of the stuff since moving to Hong Kong.
I also am not the best administrator… I can do it for others but for me, it’s just not my priority. While reading Donna-Marie’s post, time to get organise over at Small Business Diva, I realised that there are other people out there just like me. Donna-Marie offers some great tips for reorganising your home office. I think I’ll get all my paperwork and organise it into her suggested piles however to act on some things I may need longer than a couple of hours.
It looks like I’ll be spending the weekend going through paperwork… but, if I can tackle the decluttering within 11 days, I’ll be set to move forward in 2008.
What are you doing to move forward into 2008?

While reading a blog post over at Blissings, I discovered that Meryl Dragonwolf posted this:-
Follow your bliss.
If you do follow your bliss,
you put yourself on a kind of track
that has been there all the while waiting for you,
and the life you ought to be living
is the one you are living.
When you can see that,
you begin to meet people
who are in the field of your bliss,
and they open the doors to you.
I say, follow your bliss and don’t be afraid,
and doors will open
where you didn’t know they were going to be.
If you follow your bliss,
doors will open for you that wouldn’t have opened for anyone else.

As some of you know I like to receive signs that I am on the right path and today when I visited Jenni’s Papercraft Design I found this quote (shown below) that not only confirms what I have been talking to a client about, but also confirms for me that I am walking my path.
I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint - and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you. - Oprah Winfrey
Are you doing what you love?
