Hong Kong – 8 February 2008 – Tara Spicer and Nicole Graham, co-authors of the very first “Journal for the Modern Goddess” are organizing their own virtual book tour from the comfort of their homes – bed hair, jammies and all.
As first time authors but long time modern goddesses, they will be “appearing” at a variety of blogs and websites sharing their tips and tricks for being a modern goddess and the power of journaling. Along with insightful interviews, you can watch affirmation videos and read more journaling techniques, the benefits of meditation, and working with affirmations.
They kick start their tour in the USA on Monday, 11th February and will end it in Australia on the 19th March. In between they will visit people in South Africa, the UK, Hong Kong, the USA and Australia.
“Part of our Modern Goddess motto is to give back where and when we can. To honour our motto, we are using 10% of our journal sales during the tour to sponsor a woman entrepreneur through Kiva.org” says Ms Graham.
As they travel the world three times over, they will be stopping by the following sites:-

Over the holiday period Mel over at Monday Morning Power handed out a generous amount of awards as Christmas Presents. Unfortunately it’s taken me this long to get around to thanking him. THANKS MEL!!!
If you haven’t already checked out Mel’s blog, I suggest you do so because he’s always got something interesting or creative to read.
To see the awards he gave out, you can visit his blog post, Holiday Award Presentations. I will put them into my awards page over the next week.

I’m very proud, excited and happy to say that our beautiful journal, Journal for the Modern Goddess has been released. YAY!!!

To launch our journal we hosted the Goddess Gala 2007 Fundraising event in Coollum, in support of White Ribbon Day, an International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women. The Goddess Gala offered a unique guided meditation experience, a heart-felt presentation by White Ribbon Day Ambassador, Ruth Lechte and positive experiences with affirmations.
The gala was a success with the local media publishing our press release, attending the event and did a follow up article on the Tuesday. That was pretty good considering Australia had an election that weekend.
Our gorgeous journal encourages women to uncover the beautiful, unique and powerful goddess that they really are.
To give you a better feel for the journal, it is a hard covered, spiral bound writing journal that features 6 coloured inserts. The inserts offer guided questions and affirmations that encourage you to focus on aspects of your own life path.
With 204 faintly lined pages, it is perfect for every day use and lays flat when opened. The companion, guided meditation CD has 3 tracks - 2 recorded by myself and 1 recorded by Tara, my journal partner and our artist.
Within our first week we have sold 52 copies of our journal. We’re very blessed that so many people have supported us. Thank you to those that have bought our journal and have believed in us.
The journal retails at $34.95 AUD and you can purchase it from our journal site, http://www.journalsforempowerment.com/our-journals/modern-goddess/

These past 2 weeks have been busy trying to put our Journal for the Modern Goddess to bed and today we have done it!
This gorgeous girl is now at the printers being primped and preened, in time for a November launch.

The purpose of our Journal for the Modern Goddess is for women to uncover the beautiful, unique and powerful Goddess that they really are. We encourage you to focus on aspects of your own life path – the inspiration and happiness you feel, the strength and wisdom you find in times of change and the dreams and visions for your own future.
Each section offers questions for you to explore as well as affirmations for moving forward.
Our companion guided meditation CD provides you with sacred journeys that will inspire and encourage you to create positive life patterns. This will help you to recognise and invite magic, inspiration and loving energy into your life.
You will be able to purchase your own copy at www.journalsforempowerment.com and you can read more about our next journal.
I now have to wait until the end of this month to see her fully blossom and in her most glamorous frock. In the meantime I am organising a Virtual Book Tour, so if you’re interested in being a host, please do not hesitate to contact me at nicole at moderngoddessonline . com or leave me a comment on this post.
Blessings to you!

I love learning whether it is through formal courses, online workshops, reading or through talking about and reflecting on my experiences. I guess that is why I am in the field I am in, because learning is a passion and providing people with the opportunity to learn nourishes my soul.
Over the past couple of years I would have to say that my learning has been more online by participating in online workshops or free courses as well as reading other people’s blogs. Actually while reading Rainbow Design’s blog I discovered that Jacqui posted about her 7 favourite learning posts from a range of blogs… what a fantastic idea!
Once I’m back in Hong Kong I will endeavour to list a few of my favourite learning posts but in the meantime, I’m going to list a few of the ’structured learning’ I will doing in the near future.
Self Publishing - Now that things are moving along with our ‘Journal for the Modern Goddess’ I’m starting to learn more and more about self publishing and self promotion.
Soul Coach - I’m heading to the US at the end of October to become an authorised Soul Coach and at the moment I am revisiting the program to be prepared for the next step in my exciting adventure.
Art and Goddesses - Once back from my course, I will be learning to paint, actually I’ll be concentrating on mixed-media painting because this is something that I love looking at. I also have a dream of one day holding my own exhibition and showing of an array of modern day goddesses.
And I’m learning all about these prior to Christmas, however I do look forward to the whole experience and being able to tell you all about it.
I would love to hear about what you’re up to… Are you attending any workshops or participating in online workshops in the near future?

As promised, today is the day that I pass on the awards that I have received.

This award originated from Roberta Ferguson who awarded a handful of women who she thought were ‘Rockin Girl Bloggers’. What she didn’t expect was that they would ‘pass around the lurve’ and award it to other women and so on and so forth.
I award the following women the ‘Rockin Girl Blogger’ award. Congrats ladies!!
Tracee at So Sioux Me. Tracee’s intention is to inspire women and help them empower their daughters. She also takes it one step further and mentors young girls who are ‘at risk’ of walking the wrong path due to their life circumstances.
Catherine at Be the Change you want to see in Yourself. Catherine’s blog contains inspirational thoughts, ideas, quotes and articles.
Michelle at My New Shiny Shoes. Michelle’s blog is an online shopping guide for Australian shoppers. She finds the most amazing products and shows them off to the world. I love seeing her Friday Finds.
The definition of a Good Schmoozer has been taken from the blog of walksfarwomen.
“Good schmoozers”, says Deborah, “effortlessly weave their way in and out of the blogosphere, leaving friendly trails and smiles, happily making new friends along the way. They don’t limit their visits to only the rich and successful, but spend some time to say hello to new blogs as well. They are the ones who engage others in meaningful conversations, refusing to let it end at a mere hello - all the while fostering a sense of closeness and friendship.”
I award the following women the Schmoozer award. Congrats ladies!!
Michelle at Tonic Gifts is a socialiser. Her blog and articles are very popular and she encourages people to participate in carnivals, parties and awards.
Michelle at A Road to Infinite Bliss. Michelle is on a journey and amazingly a similar one as myself. She too is a Goddess Playshop Facilitator as well as working toward becoming a coach and author.
Anne from Diva Days is another social butterfly. Her blog is for the alternative Diva. Anne says just because we live in our jeans doesn’t mean we can’t do Glam when we decide to.
I am also very surprised to find that I have been nominated three Blogger’s Choice Awards. Thank you so much Michelle from My New Shiny Shoes. I’m so gobsmacked.
If you would like to vote for me, you can do so by clicking on the awards below.

Doesn’t that title bring back old memories… well if you lived through the 80’s I wouldn’t have to say much more and I cannot help but sing the song when I read the title.
Now, why am I excited?
Because I’ve just won another blog award!!
And this time it was from WalksFarWomen. She awarded me with the “Schmoozer” award. When I say schmoozer, my very active and very visual imagination creates a weird and wonderful collection of scenarios but to keep you all on track, here is a definintion from WalksFarWomen’s blog.
Thank you WalksFarWomen! I feel very honoured and humbled by your acknowledgement.
I now need to award other blogging women who I think are schmoozers. I’m going to think on this over the weekend and make my announcement on Monday, along with the Rockin’ Chick Blogger award.
Have a great weekend!

Woohoo! 80% finished… phew… for the past week I’ve been working on the content of my website and I know it’s only 80% finished but if I waited until it was 100% finished, I would probably never launch it so… drum roll please…
Ta Da… www.moderngoddessonline.com
I’m now ready to celebrate and tell the world all about it.
I’ve started but need some help… I’ve made an announcement on She-essence plus a couple of business forums. I’m sending out my emagazine, a little late, but better late than never and will be telling everyone about the website. I am going to send out a couple of emails to other clients and place a link in there. I will announce it on my personal blog for family and friends to see.
And I have just discovered Heynounce. I found it while catching up on Kylie’s blog, Oz-e-wahm. I am going to announce it there too.
Can you suggest any other ways of celebrating on the internet?

WOW… I was so surprised to have found out I had received the Rockin’ Girl Blogger award so you can only guess how surprised I was when I found out I had received it again!
Yep… that’s right… I was awarded it twice.
Earlier in the week Ann from The Tall Poppy awarded me this pink, funky award and then later in the week, Simone from Simone’s Butterfly awarded me it too.
I’m very touched and speechless as it came from out of the blue. Thank You Ann and Simone.
I believe the tradition is to continue it on and award it to who I feel are Rockin’ Girl Bloggers. It’s a hard decision as there are so many blogs out there so I’m going to sleep on it. Stay Tuned!

I am very proud to announce the launch of The Modern Goddess Online Store. It has been a long time in the making and after a few hicups, it’s here.
Feel free to browse and don’t be shy in purchasing something. I promise you’ll be in for a real treat.
Hopefully by the end of June I will have also launched my Modern Goddess range of pampering products specifically designed for a Modern Goddess. They smell divine - feminine and empowering. The range includes a 150g bar of gorgeous soap, face mask, body scrub and foot scrub plus chakra kebabs - 7 yummy soaps for each 7 major chakras and the smell is just as divine because we used the 7 Goddess-ence 100% oil blends relating to each major chakra.
Check out my Goddess Store and feel free to provide feedback.
