Welcome to Empowering Women - Issue 14 and this issue focuses on nurturing self. Enjoy!

Michelle over at Tonic Gifts profiles a range of products designed for women by women.  In her post the Australian company, Helen White she explains that their range of products include both classic and contemporary scents.

In my article about Pampering Ourselves I explain that pampering ourselves doesn’t mean going out and spending a fortune at the beauticians or a fancy spa.  I offer a delicious foot soak you can make at home.

At the Healthy Living Lounge, Carole provides you with another pampering recipe that you can make at home.  Her authentic chocolate facial does have a warning… Chocolate facials are addictive so administer wisely. One per week is the recommended dosage.

The Modern Goddess Magazine were celebrating the Goddess Within and to keep with the theme they thought a few Goddess Cocktails are in order.  Their recipes are delicious.

The last thing for self nurturing is sit back and watch this beautiful Goddess Meditation by Rev. Laurie Sue Brockway and Self-Healing Expressions. The meditation features music by Laura Powers, the song is ‘Dance, ’till the Rain Begins’.

1. Brandie over at Girls Who Network tells us how she hiked the muir Redwoods while vacationing in san Francisco, and how there was a valuable lesson in the woods.  A must read for those that consider quitting due to feeling that things are hard and it’s easier to quit rather than keep on going.

empowering women

Welcome to Issue 10 of Empowering Women and I’m so blessed to have reached double figures.  Thank you for all the submissions each month.

So this issue I’m asking the question… how can we become empowered?

1. Have a balanced lifestyle - Alex over at The Next 45 Years presents an article about how important it is to keep your balance.  I know that I constantly struggle with this and it is something that doesn’t come naturally for most.

2. Be happy - Nneka over at Balanced Life Center outlines the 7 keys to happiness.  Some people say that happiness is a mindset and others feel it’s more.  Personally the 7 points outlined are a step in the right direction.

3. Listen to your needs - Carole over at The Healthy Living Lounge suggests that you take time out to marinate your life and what she means is to really take time to listen to your needs; your soul’s needs.

4. Get your finances organised - Susan from The Secret to Life presents 21 success secrets of self-made millionaires.  The list is great and if you feel you’ve got your finances organise, it still wouldn’t hurt to read through this list because you could find 1 useful tip.

5. Nurturing friendships - Beverly from Embrace Your Gifts happily points out that women need women and I tend to agree with her.  Girl Power is pretty amazing and when those girls are nurturing, encouraging and speaking their truth, the friendship will be inspiring and empowering.

empowering women

Welcome to Issue 9 of Empowering Women.  This carnival is about providing women with opportunities to make changes in their life so that they can move forward in becoming empowered, being happy and feeling comfortable in their own skin.

When I read Simone’s article about how to make change last longer than your lipstick, I thought this is the first article that everyone needs to read.  Outfit Inspirations offers tools to lift your spirits and help focus your future.

Once you’ve read the abovementioned article, then I would suggest you hop on over to Alex at The Next 45 Years.  Alex has a great article that discusses how we should be responsive not reactive when you are trying to Master your Emotions.

And keeping with the emotions theme, Ant over at The Beef Jerky explains you need to keep your emotions in check in the article, 5 ways not to get your point across and Warren over at What I think About tells us a story about overcoming his fears in the article, How to overcome fear and the obstacles it creates.

Once you’ve overcome your fears, got your emotions sorted and the changes are taking place, why not reward yourself.  Tristan over at The Syergy Institute provides you with some ideas in the article, Rewarding yourself for getting things done (and on time)

Have a great week!  And in the meantime, why not pass on the love, the knowledge and the wisdom to help anothers become empowered.  Blessings to you.

empowering women

Welcome to Issue 8 of Empowering Women and this issue I am focusing on tools for women in business or interested in starting their own business.

Before starting your own business it is always important to research exactly what you’re getting yourself into.  You need to know what costs are involved, how much time you will need to put into the business to be financially successful and what skills you need or will need to gain to run your business.  To help you start your research I would highly recommend you read Sagar’s article at Bootstrappers.  Her article provides women with 100 Networking Resources, Guides and Links.

However if you are not sure what you want to do, then research can be a little difficult.  There are a range of option particularly for those who want to work from home.  Michelle from MT Herald Dot Com has an article about how to start a Medical Transcription Business, and Kylie from Oz-e-wham suggests a seminar on How to become a Ghost Writer.  These are two types of businesses people do not consider as they are not so obvious.

I’ve also heard women say “I don’t think I can start my own business… what if I fail?”  Well I’m here to give you a little pep talk and say you can do it!  Change your thinking from failure to success and then read Edith’s post over at Dream. Think. Act. about the Top 7 ways to Boost your Self Esteem.

Once you start your business there will be some high days and they are very exciting days, but you may also experience low or stressful days.  To help you deal with the stress I suggest you read Dianne’s post over at Manifesting Success.  She provides you with 7 Highly Effective Habits for Stress Releasing.

Now that you’ve researched your business, started it and overcome your self esteem issues and beat the stress that may appear when having your own business, I would highly recommend you get out there and start promoting yourself.  One way of doing this is through Business Networking explains Michelle at Tonic Gifts.

I wish you success and lots of adventures.  Starting your own business and becoming successful can be very rewarding but, it’s not for everyone so make sure you know what you’re getting yourself into.  The saying “look before you leap” is definitely words of wisdom in this situation.

Pass on the love, the knowledge and the wisdom to help anothers become empowered. Have a great week!

empowering women

Welcome to Issue 7 of Empowering Women and this issue I’m focusing on personal development.

The first article of this issue define’s Personal Development and is written by Chris over at Love Peace Project.  Chris explains all the tools, books, cd’s, courses etc in the world will not help unless you are willing to change and actually act on the suggested techniques.

Once you are willing to change I would suggest reading the next article about personal Mission Statements.  Elena over at Busy Bee Mamma provides you with a guideline for writing your own personal Mission Statement which was adapted from the book The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People.

Then my next suggestion is to write up a few goals just so you know what you’re aiming for.  This next article by Ellesse of Goal Setting College, provides you with some tip about tackling difficult goals.

Once you’ve set your goals, pop over to Life Coaches Blog because Alvin discusses how you can take your personal power back.  He does ask 2 questions at the beginning… who do you admire? and who do you hate?  I can rattle off a number of people I admire but I make it my philosophy not to hate anyone because hate is such a wasted emotion.

And to end this issue of Empowering Women, I just want you to remember that attituide is everything when you are looking at developing yourself.  Phi from Fired Up Phil write about how attitude plays a huge role in attaining success and living the life of your dreams.

Remember, Attitude of Gratitude is also the key in personal developing and living life. Pass on the love, the knowledge and the wisdom to help anothers become empowered. Have a great week!
